1. Ask your doctor if Board Certified: Make sure the plastic surgeon you choose is board certified. The physician should choose to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This  ensures that your cosmetic surgeon and reconstruction, have been  trained in cosmetic surgery, suffered a tough test and establish the  necessary skills in this particular.
2. Make  sure the doctor who specializes in the procedure you are looking for: a  plastic surgeon specializing in breast implants may not be the best  option to rearrange your nose.
3. Your  expectations must be realistic: While cosmetic surgical procedures can  provide dramatic improvements in appearance, aesthetics are exactly what  you want, in fact, not be achieved. Check your motives and be realistic and levelheaded.
4. Having  determined that your physical health and emotional well: a complete  Examination of the past and when physical health, emotional health and  the reasons for wanting plastic surgery should be performed by your  doctor.
